The Canadian Government has terminated visa-free travel for citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. The reason for the termination is due to concerns over individuals who obtain passports under the country’s citizen by investment (CBI) program.
This comes on the heels of various incidents such as the detention of several Iranians in Canada carrying Eastern Caribbean passports and heightened security measures taken against Eastern Caribbean travelers.
Currently, within CARICOM only The Bahamas and Barbados continue to maintain visa-free travel to Canada.
